As someone who always found comfort in scent, I spent years lighting candles to soften my space. But the more I learned about what I was actually breathing in, the more disillusioned I became. Headaches from paraffin. Overpowering synthetic fragrances. Ingredient labels I couldn’t understand. Even the “natural” options fell short — bland, predictable, and lacking soul.
So I decided to create something better.
I started iluxir in my small Austin bedroom with a single DIY candle-making kit. I was craving more in life than a steady and toxic 9-5 — more meaning, more creativity, and more connection to what I was putting into the world. What began as a personal experiment quickly turned into a purpose: to craft clean-burning, luxury candles that transform everyday moments into intentional rituals.
